Sometimes life can take crazy turns. What happened to me is the proof that life is full of surprises.
One day I found an article in HT City about Stars in the City contest. We just had to mail an answer to a simple question and we could get a chance to meet actors Katrina Kaif, Saif Ali Khan, writer Hussain Zaidi and the director Kabir Khan. I participated for the first time, mailed the answer and to my surprise I got a call from HT office the next day.
I was too excited and also in doubt as if it would really happen. Well guys, I forgot to tell you that I am good at sketching too (well not a pro, but still I try hard to make them look decent) and that art helped me stand apart from other winners.
I woke up till 3 am that night to complete the sketch and it turned out not so good. I could not give that to Katrina for sure. Next morning I woke up, it was Monday, 24th of August 2015 and it was going to be probably the best day of my life because I had to meet the cast of Phantom. Now about the sketch, I worked another two hours on it and made that sketch worthy of gifting Katrina. Here it is:

I went to the HT office and was surprised to know that I was one of the only 10 lucky winners. Finally the stars came, I was seated in the first row and I could not believe that I was seeing them so close. The session began and my turn came to ask question, it was for Katrina obviously, she answered it well. I was asked to give Katrina the sketch, on hearing that she said, “I hope you draw well!!” and then when I took it out of my bag she said, “It’s really good, I can see it from here that it’s good.” I asked if I can come there and give to her, she said excitedly, “Sure, come.” She and Saif both really loved the sketch and appreciated me for it. I was too happy that my hard work actually paid off. The fun part was that I also wrote my mobile no. in the bottom of the sketch and that made everyone laugh.
At the end of the event I got to shake hands with
Katrina. That was a great feeling, out of this world. Basically my words cannot
explain it. I got to interact with undoubtedly the most beautiful actress of
Bollywood. I also got my question and picture printed on HT City-

I hope this story is a good example of how much
unpredictable and beautiful life can be. When you feel your life is not good,
like I did, this magical experience came to my life.
